Redemption line ternates F1TC18RLF1
Redemption line, is an f1 line of ternates bred for the aztec morph. The US aztecs haven't met the standards of the overseas production. So i bred two specific wc ternates together to create a phenotype that will help support the aztec morph.
Namely, a back pattern with more space between the low and high points of the back diamonds.
Medium thickness of black.
Side banding for color.
The extra space and shape of the back diamonds will help to stop the striping and create back diamond separation.
Thats whats really setting the overseas production of aztecs apart from the US production.
The best looking aztecs have back diamond separation.
The aztec gene acts like a motley and marble at the same time. It tends to have a lot of color on the sides but without reducing the rosettes as much.
The back pattern does get pulled up tighter but its not as reduced as much as we see in marble.
So i did this breeding based around the functionality of aztec. These will work with other morphs like ocelot, marble, tiger motley, phantom, tribal as well.
The mainland retics in the US have a general baseline look of rounded touching or connecting back diamonds, and average side colors and pattern structure.
Thats why the US aztecs all look the way they do.
It will take replacing those traits with traits better suited for aztec to get the results we see from overseas production.
It should only take one or two breedings to really start to see improvements.
