SIAU ISLAND RETICS

Siau island retics are one of the localities i really wish i would have been able to get in before losing importation.

They are a very unique looking retic.  They seem to have traits of northern malukus, jampeanus, and saputria.

From their head shape, pattern, and colors, they really seem to be an evolutionary mix of the surrounding island types.

Siau island is part of the sangihe island groups just north of Sulawesi.  Some of the smaller island in that island group most likely have super dwarf retics on them.
This makes the lost of importation more relevant when you start to understand just what all we lost.

Siau island retics seem to have a lot of side banding, thinner blacks, and fewer back diamonds.
Their color spectrum seem to be very close to that of green phase ternates.

Head structure seems to be very close to sula/saputrai.

If their colors were the same as sula/saputrai it would be very difficult to tell them apart.

From what im told from the people in indo working with them, they seem to fall into the dwarf category for size. 
Siau is only around 60 square miles.  About double the size of kalaotoa.

I hope to see the retic keepers in UK and EU start importing these.
I think this is a locality worth working with.

The potential for selective breeding for pures and morph crosses is major with this locality and i hope people start working with them.

Theres so many great island locality retics out there.
