GEBE ISLAND RETICS
Gebe island is another locality we know very little about. Its off the south west coast of Halmahera and is very close to the island northeast island of West Papua. Namely Waigeo island. I dont think we know just how far east the retic range gos, The northern maluku range probably doesnt go much further east then Gebe. There is an island just south east of Gebe, Gag island and one just northeast Sajang island, that could have retics. I dont know if they do or not.
Gebe is the largest of Four island in that Group. Theres one island just of the west coast that i dont know its name. Its probably just considered part of Gebe. East of Gebe is Ju island that that looks to be around the same size as Kalaotoa. Right next to Ju island is Uta island that looks to be the size of Karompa. I dont know if there are retics on those island, but if there is they are probably super dwarf size retics,

There are very few pictures of Gebe island retics. Iv only seen a few. The ones i have seen have all had a similar look. Very dark with a northern maluku pattern. We dont know how big they get. But i did see one pic years ago of a large retic that was said to be a gebe. It was definitely in the larger range for dwarfs. The handful of other pics were in that small dwarf size range.
Based on the pics gebes seem to have a head shape that takes after ternates and other retics from the smaller island of the Northern Malukus. The same heavier body type as well. Thats all the info i have on Gebe island.
