My name is Rodney Boalich. I've been working with reptiles since I was 5 years old. I have been mostly focused on breeding reticulated pythons and researching island locality retics of Indonesia. When I started looking into retic localities there was very little information available. Over the years I've put together a lot of information, and compiled photos of many different retic localities from all over their natural range. I have considered writing a book on retics, but decided it would be better to set up a website and make all of the information free. A website allows me to easily add information as it comes in. The website also allows me to show all of my animals and breeding.
In the process of researching retics, I learned a lot about other reptiles in Indonesia; most notably how much larger their natural ranges are. This indicates the clear need for subspecies classification of many animals that the scientific community has yet to do.
As I continue to learn about locality retics I hope to learn more about other locality species such as white lips, scrubs, and timors. I will be posting all of the information I have available on them as well.
